ARE YOU READY TO LEARN THE "TRUTH"?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

*****TRUTH BLOG TOUR INTERVIEW/REVIEW*****

B&B:   Ms. Romig, thank you for joining us today. As you know The B&B Book Review was birthed from conversations, with wine, over your books. Is there a snack and/or drink that you always have to have while writing?

AR:     If it is earlier in the day, I love my coffee. As the day progresses, I like iced tea—then if it is after dinner, I tend to like wine!

B&B:    Can you name some funny and/or random things that happened while you were writing “Truth”? (It can be something that happened in the story, or something that happened with your family. Anything at all!)

AR:  : I wrote about six beginnings to Truth. That’s based on the Epilogue of Consequences. I took the story many different directions. It wasn’t until I came to terms with where I wanted the story to go that I was finally able to start truly writing. Once I did, Mr. Jeff told me that no one would like it. He said the readers would be upset. It wasn’t that I didn’t care—but, I can’t write that way. I have to write what I want to write.

I’ve learned that it isn’t possible to please EVERYONE. Therefore, I’ve decided to please myself. Funny thing—the ratings and reviews are fantastic for Truth.

B&B:    In three words, describe Tony. In another three words, describe Claire.

    Tony—complicated—broken—and unaware
    Claire—survivor—needy—resourceful

B&B:    Do you have any exciting stories about your latest novel Truth that you think will be of readers interest?

AR:     When I wrote Consequences, I did not plan on it being the beginning of a trilogy or a series. I thought it was a standalone book; however, my readers wanted to know what happened next. To be honest, so did I.
Tony and Claire wouldn’t leave me alone. I thought about them constantly. I needed to learn the TRUTH of their story. I mean, did Claire really love him? Did she only go on with their relationship because of Stockholm syndrome? What about Tony? Why would he do what he did at the end of Consequences? Were Claire’s consequences planned from the beginning? How do their ancestors fit into the story? I had SO many lingering questions...the only way to learn the answers was to sit down and write. I can just say...after surviving the Consequences—everyone NEEDS to learn the TRUTH!

B&B:    Thank you so much for taking time with us today, Ms. Romig. We also want to thank Hardcover Therapy for allowing us to be part of the blog tour. Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

AR:    The final book in the series is CONVICTED. I’m super excited about this installment. I kinda have a reputation as a “Mind F***”. I take that title seriously and quoting Tony, “I didn’t want to disappoint—public failure isn’t an option.”

There you have it!!! Please continue reading for our ****SPOILER FREE**** review of "TRUTH".
Image and video hosting by TinyPic Synopsis ~ Claire Nichols endured the CONSEQUENCES of Anthony Rawlings’ vendetta. When she first arrived to his home, her goal was survival. Through strength and compartmentalization Claire captivated her captor. Her resilience in the face of his rule threatened Anthony’s well developed plan. Domination became desire and power turned to love. Their passion and adoration in a world of opulence appeared perfect. Yet, reality was a roller coaster of emotion. Claire’s world teetered on the edge of sanity as Antony monitored her every move. When given the opportunity to flee, Claire drove away. A fateful decision which set a well laid plan into motion. However, unbeknownst to either of them, there were others who saw past the perfect facade of Anthony Rawlings. There were others who saw the TRUTH. Conspiracy and unfulfilled promises result in an early prison release for Claire. Not just a release – a pardon. According to the law, her crime never happened! Will it be that easy? Faced with freedom from her past... can Claire seize it? Can she build a new life, mend her broken spirit, become the woman she once was, and seek her own revenge? Or is it all a game? And does the game master have different plans? How does Sophia Burke fit into the puzzle that is Tony and Claire? Will her presence affect the future of this well esteemed man? Can he dominate twice? Is that his goal? When buried sins are discovered they threaten not only Tony and Claire’s future -- but their very lives! Will the TRUTH be revealed in time?

The TRUTH of this second novel in the CONSEQUENCES series is that it is better than the first, if that is possible. "Truth" is a story of evolution. If you take nothing else away from this novel you must see, through Aleatha Romig's writings, that all things evolve, for better or worse, and she takes us on a journey of evolution through the characters of Claire Nichols Rawlings and Anthony Rawlings. We bear witness, and become emotionally entangled, in the process of change in these two characters individually, as well as the relationship between them and others. They go from horrid and controlling sets of circumstances to higher, better distinguishable differences.
How Ms. Rawlings draws us in is seductive. We are teased into the story with a sense of empathy like a warm blanket, due, in part, to our hearts hanging on a hook from the grievous and lamentable ending of "Consequences". By Chapter two it is impossible to abandon this book because we are so emotionally invested in the lives of Tony and Claire. No matter if you love them or hate them, you must continue reading as to know the outcome. The pleasing observation, I found, at the end of "Truth" was that I grew with the characters and harvested some emotions that must lay dormant inside me (at one point I wanted to throw my Kindle in anger; another had me channeling my inner cheerleader, pom poms in hand!). Moral issues that I absolutely, positively had a solid opinion of before I read this book I questioned at the end of it. That, dear readers, is the mark of a great author.
The delicious part of this book, in my opinion, was that the semantics were so raw, tolerant, merciful and humane in one chapter, and in the next delightful and quippy!! You will know what I mean when you read -- and read you must - "Truth"!!!
I am sooooooo looking forward to the final installment of this story, "Convicted". If it is anything like her first two novels, Ms. Romig will deliver it not with a tidy red bow, but on a giant, screaming, twisting, turning, flaming, red roller coaster!!!!

ALEATHA ROMIG ~ STEALTH BOMBER

Image and video hosting by TinyPicUpon first reading "Consequences", I felt as if I had been hit with a bomb, and never saw the approaching vehicle of delivery. Like a Stealth Aircraft delivering said bomb, such is Author Aleatha Romig. Stealth Aircraft make it difficult for conventional radar to detect the aircraft successfully, increasing the odds of a successful attack. I was a conventional reader. Aleatha Romig is a Stealth Bomber. She, my friends, successfully attacks in her book, "Consequences. "Consequences" is not a conventional book and, as I found out, not for the weak of heart. Aleatha Romig's twists and turns of events is mindblowing, to say the least. Just when you think that a chapter has a predictible end, she completely turns the events in such a manner that you are, quite literally, sitting aghast wondering "what the hell just happened?" I am in awe of her writing because, as it is quite twisted, it leaves you wanting more. You begin to question your own psyche as you find it difficult to put the book down. You feel like an addict when you look for an opportunity to read "just one chapter, really!" You turn into a night owl when you see that it is, now, 3:00 a.m. and you can't leave Claire to the devices of Tony Rawlings. This, my friends, is Aleatha Romig's "MO". She sees you approaching her book, she knows you are unaware of the tale she has spun within the cover, she imagines you opening the book and - BAM!! - she drops the bomb of that first chapter!! You are then, done for. My sympathies are with you. I, too, am a victim, as are four of my family members, The B&B Book Review that started as a result of our endless conversations of Tony and Claire, and the endless (really, endless!) friends and family that I have told of her books. I, truly, believe that Aleatha Romig is a great writer. I was honored to review "Consequences", and the link is at the top of this page. I am happy to be part of this Blog Tour and I am thrilled to have gotten to know Aleatha. She is a genuinely kind person (not at all like Tony, thank God!) I look forward to many more books in her writing future!

"RAINE MILLER ~ ROMANCE WEB WEAVER"

Image and video hosting by TinyPicI would ask that you close your eyes and imagine a beautifully woven, and intricately spun, spider's web.  One that has just been moistened with morning dew and is glistening in the dawn's rays of sunlight. Picture how it sparkles as it catches a breeze and draws your attention to a different, and unique, twist of where it would bend and sway differently.  Your attention is constantly drawn to something new, different, or idiosyncratic.  THIS is how I see the writings of Raine Miller.  Darius and Marianne; Ethan and Brynne; Jeremy and Georgina; their stories, and the details of their stories, are all woven through the intimate Web of Romance Writer, Raine Miller.  I, personally, have never read an author who so beautifully weaves contemporary and historic stories so well.  I feel transported to the places and surroundings in each.  I feel as if I know each couple as I stroll through the journey of their courtships and love.  I feel privileged that Ms. Miller includes us in walking through their lives.  These are her romance gifts to us, her readers.
Among the gifts she shares with us is a thirst for knowledge.  She so delicately piques our interests with the details of her stories.  I found that I diverted into interesting areas of photography, art, antique jewelry and literature.  All part of the beautiful web Ms. Miller spins around us as we engage ourselves into the details of her love stories.  I found myself going to her blog to investigate what the true origin of photographs and paintings were.  I Googled "David Gandy" to get a mental picture of Ethan Blackstone.  I did a web search for the writings of John Keats and exposed myself to same.  I, then, was silently touched as I witnessed a gift transcend centuries, through Raine Miller's stories, from Darius Rourke to Brynne Bennett.   In short, reading a Raine Miller romance is not merely the reading of a book, it is both a transportation and education IF you allow it to be.
The final gift I see in the Web is in the journey of healing.  We are invited to travel that journey with Marianne, Georgina, Brynne and Ethan.  If there is truth to the statement "True Love Conquers All", you will find this message firmly within the pages of Ms. Miller's stories.  They are stories of hope.  They are not pretty.  They are love in all it's ugliness and how love is used as a tool.  As with any tool it serves to rip, tear and beat away at the raw to reveal the treasure within; the unconditional gift of those it serves ~ the love.
For those who appreciate the romance of Raine Miller you will understand this text.  For those of you who have not had the experience of a Raine Miller romance add these titles to your summer reading list.
To Raine Miller ~ may you always be filled with exciting characters and the ability to share them with those who love them.  I, and the members of The B&B Book Review, are avid fans.

UNTIL I BREAK ~ M. Leighton COMMENTARY

Until now, I have never been engaged in a situation where a book that I have downloaded has been pulled from publication by the author.  Sadly, the book UNTIL I BREAK by M. Leighton, will be pulled from the public as of tomorrow.  The author has cited her reasons on her blog.  As a reviewer of books I appreciate the diversity of content in literature. Yes, M. Leighton, UNTIL I BREAK has added, yet, another dimension to the layers of stories that you publish.  I am appalled that you felt such enormity of pressure that caused you to make this decision. It matters not your personal beliefs, morals or values, as an author I value the stories that come out of your head and heart.  When an idea for a story comes to you, you cannot control the avenue it takes no more than you can control having a good dream or nightmare. You take the good dream or nightmare and funnel it into a form that allows us to take it in, digest it and take something away from it; a lesson? repulsion? understanding? desensitization? tolerance?  It has always been our decision, as readers, to form an opinion.

I believe that UNTIL I BREAK should stay available to purchase. You, however, have made your decision. We support you no matter what.  We will continue to purchase, read and review your other stories. We will always give you, and our readers, our honest opinion of your work.  It is with a heavy heart that we write this post.  We will be posting our review upon completing our read. We ask all of our readers to purchase UNTIL I BREAK.  We have included the Amazon link below.
